Iran, Mauritius Keen on Expansion of Mutual Ties
At the meeting here, Sadr welcomed Devarka's appointment as Mauritius Republic's ambassador to Iran.
He said the two countries should utilize their capacities to expand mutual ties in political and economic fields.
Devarka, for his part, asked for Tehran-Port Louis cooperation in tourism and fishery, IRNA reported.
In another development, the ambassador held talks with President Khatami.
Khatami, at the meeting, said the only factor ensuring regional states' development is security and such security would be created by deepening of mutual relations.
He pointed out that the Republic of Mauritius plays a `positive role' in the unity of the Indian Ocean states.
The president encouraged all developing states to try to augment their scientific and technological know-how to attain development.
Devarka, conveying the greetings of his country's top officials for Khatami, announced their readiness to expand cooperation with Iran in all fields.
